  • Please note: This is a fixed term contract ending August 2027, working 5 hours per week
     
    We are looking for a Teacher of Dance to join our Performing Arts department at Avanti House Secondary School.
     
    This is an exciting opportunity to inspire young people through creative and engaging teaching, delivering a broad and ambitious Dance curriculum that enables every student to develop their confidence, creativity and self-expression.
     
    You will plan and deliver high-quality lessons, adapt your teaching to meet the needs of all learners, and use assessment effectively to support excellent progress and achievement. Working closely with colleagues, parents and the wider school community, you will contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel safe, valued and motivated to succeed.

    What will you do?
    • Deliver high-quality Dance lessons that inspire, challenge and support all pupils to achieve excellent progress and outcomes through engaging, inclusive teaching.
    • Create a safe, respectful and positive learning environment where high expectations of behaviour, wellbeing and achievement enable every pupil to thrive.
    • Assess, monitor and provide meaningful feedback on pupils' progress, using data to inform planning and ensure teaching meets the needs of all learners
    • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, the Avanti Schools Trust and external partners to support pupils' academic, personal and spiritual development while contributing to the wider life of the school.
    • Promote and safeguard the welfare of students, ensuring compliance with school policies and protocols.

    • Qualified to bachelor’s degree level in relevant or allied subject 
    • QTS qualified
    • Able to self-start, work independently and collaboratively as part of a team- whether led or leading
    • Clear vision and understanding of how to implement and sustain a high-quality teaching and learning
