  • Please note: This is a fixed-term role for maternity cover until November 2027
     
    We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to work alongside our teaching team at Krishna Avanti Primary School, supporting the delivery of high-quality learning and helping pupils make progress across the curriculum.
     
    You will work with individuals and groups of pupils, helping them to engage confidently in learning, develop their skills and make the most of the opportunities available to them. You will prepare learning resources, support classroom activities and provide practical and pastoral support, adapting your approach to meet pupils’ individual needs under the guidance of the class teacher.
     
    You will also play an important role in creating a positive, inclusive and well-organised learning environment where every pupil feels valued, supported and encouraged to achieve their potential.

    What will you do?
    • Support the class teacher with learning activities, working with individuals and groups of pupils to help them access the curriculum and make progress.
    • Help create a positive, inclusive and well-organised classroom environment where pupils feel supported, encouraged and able to participate in learning.
    • Provide pastoral and practical support to pupils, including encouraging positive relationships, supporting personal needs and responding appropriately when pupils are unwell, distressed or unsettled.
    • Assist the teacher with classroom preparation, resources, routine assessments, record keeping and providing feedback on pupils’ progress and achievement.
    • Promote the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all pupils by following safeguarding, health and safety, SEN, data protection and Trust policies, while contributing to school activities, trips, meetings and professional development.

    What are we looking for?
    • Good level of literacy and numeracy skills
    • Experience of general administrative work e.g. photocopying, laminating and the ability to work well within a team
    • An understanding of classroom roles and responsibilities
    • Good keyboard skills and knowledge of relevant ICT packages, computer, audio and video equipment
    • Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students
